In certain ways, Exynos 2400 beats Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Samsung's in-house Exynos 2400 processor replaces the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus in Europe and other markets, returning to its dual-platform approach. Samsung isn't employing its Exynos processor in the Galaxy S24 Ultra anyplace. Is there still a performance gap between the Exynos and Snapdragon flagships that might slow the super flagship?

Exynos 2400 beats Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

In several areas, the Exynos 2400 outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in peak performance and power efficiency.

Exynos 2400 outscored Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in ray tracing    

Golden Reviewer used simulated benchmarks to evaluate the Exynos 2400 chip's performance and power efficiency. In 3DMark SolarBay, Samsung's deca-core Exynos 2400 outperformed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in FPS and power efficiency. Exynos got 8642 FPS, beating Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's 8601. even with a lower margin. This test showed the Exynos 2400 used 20% less power. Samsung appears to have resolved several Xclips 940 GPU problems.

In other GPU tests, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 outscored the Exynos processor. At 4360, the Exynos 2400 scored worse in 3DMark Wildlife extreme than the Snapdragon flagship's 5181. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has better power efficiency. Other GPU tests like GFXBench 3.1 and Aztec also returned close but inferior results to Snapdragon.

Some Exynos 2400s still use a lot of electricity

The Exynos 2400 scored 2266 in Single-Core and 7326 in Multi-Core Geekbench. NotebookCheck reported that it slightly outscored the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in their benchmark database. NotebookCheck also found that the Exynos processor used over 20 watts throughout testing. On average, the ‘Big’ Cortex-X4 core and Mid cores consume more power, according to Golden Reviewer datasheets.
