Google improved the parental controls for "Family Link."

Children's online safety and not having enough adult care is still a big problem. Recently, Google announced that it has updated its parental controls app Family Link. This app lets parents manage and watch what their kids do on Chrome or Android devices. Google also announced that it would be giving $20 million to groups that work to protect and promote children's health and safety, such as Highlights for Kids and Sesame Workshop. These updates are meant to help parents and guardians steer their kids toward age-appropriate content and keep an eye on how they spend their time online.

Here are the changes:

It's now easy to find Family Link. After logging in to your Google Account, look for "parental controls." There will be a box with a list of the accounts you are in charge of and a link to each one's settings.

It's now safe to share passwords with family members. Let's say you are a parent or guardian helping your child with their homework or sharing access to a website with someone else? With Google Password Manager, you can now quickly share the username and password for a certain website or service.

Controlling SafeSearch settings is easy. For users under 18, the search limiting tool is already on by default, but it can now be found right on the Search results page.

YouTube now has safety measures that are built in for teens. Google said in November that it would suggest less problematic material on YouTube, the famous video-sharing site it owns. This includes videos that compare physical features or show how bodies should look. Additionally, the "Take a Break" and "Bedtime" alerts will be bigger and show up more often.

Here you can find out more about these new Safe Search tools and other projects.
